That's what most people would say if they were referring to the young man who spends most of his time within the confines of his small blue box. The boyish face showing a beaming smile, which most of the time is actually a mask concealing the true man beneath. He is, in fact, much older than he comes across as. He's seen pain and anguish throughout his lives and tries to mask it by coming across as a cheery young man. It's the only way he can express himself when he feels pressured or knows others are in danger. He does this often by lying to people regarding just how bad the situation is. During the episode "The Almost People", the Doctor lies to Amy concerning the issue if she is pregnant or not. The TARDIS console monitor is indecisive and he knew why. It couldn't get a fix on her because she wasn't actually there in the TARDIS with them. She was replaced with a doppelganger but still had the real Amy's memories inside of her double. The Doctor had to keep smiling and telling her it was alright, even though he knew he wasn't speaking to the real Amy.

The Eleventh Doctor has an act of flailing with his hands when embarrassed or when things aren't going the way he wants. A prime example of this was during the episode "A Good Man Goes to War", Vastra asked the Doctor when Amy conceived her child, Melody Pond. At that moment he was completely vulnerable because Vastra had touched on a sensitive subject for him; sex. He ended up just flailing his hands around and unable to answer her. Was this because he was too shy about the subject or was it because he didn't want to think about intimacy between his two closest friends? Possibly the latter, since the Eleventh Doctor can come across as a prude at the best of times and doesn't usually engage in talk of a sexual nature.

The Eleventh Doctor can engage in conversation with almost anyone and anything; animals and aliens alike. One of his many talents is his ability to speak to babies. The Doctor speaking in baby language was seen when he visited his close friend Craig in the episode "Closing Time." The Doctor spoke to Craig's son, Alfie, with Craig standing there oblivious to what the Doctor was actually saying. The Eleventh Doctor often comes across like someone's embarrassing dad. He tries to act cool by thinking his clothes are cool and tries his hardest to blend in with others, attempting to act like a human. A good example of this would be during the episode "The Eleventh Hour." Whilst finishing off his regeneration cycle within a hospital where Prisoner Zero was hiding, he grabbed a load of clothes from a cupboard and put them on. He changed out of his past incarnation's clothes and got undressed right in front of Amy and Rory in the hospital. He tried to act normal, by getting changed and making himself look presentable, but still remained alien by getting changed right in front of everyone and wearing a bowtie and tweed suit. That just screamed eccentric. He once wore a Stetson in the wild west whilst in the episode "A Town Called Mercy." Thinking it would make him blend in with the local cowboys, it only achieved making him look rather ridiculous in a tweed suit and an out of place hat. River Song shot it off his head with her gun and that was the end of that. Fezzes were another of Eleven's passions. He wore a red fez during the episode "A Big Bang" River Song showed how much she hated him wearing it and shot it off his head. Yet, during the episode "The Time of the Doctor", he sported his red fez once again, proving that his love of hats was something special to his eleventh regeneration.

The Eleventh Doctor is a very protective person and would do anything to protect his friends. A good example of this would be when he is facing a personal problem, or when he is seeing a situation too dangerous for his companions to face. The Doctor would demand that his companions return to the TARDIS, as seen in the episode "Vampires of Venice", or would leave them in the safest place possible. In Vampires of Venice, both Amy and Rory were under attack from vampires and the Doctor placed himself in danger, by visiting the vampire leader and offering himself up in place of his friends. The Doctor's heroic side is often shown when he is protecting his friends.

He hates people who inflict pain on others or are selfish in their own needs at the expense of others. He can drop the boyish charm and become a dangerous man, choosing rash decisions and not knowing what the outcome could be, no matter how dangerous. During the episode "A Beast Below" the Doctor had to make a hard decision to either save the human race, which was riding on the back of a huge whale in space, or save the whale, which was being tortured by the human race. He didn't know if he should render the whale brain dead, which meant an end to it's suffering, or allow the humans to continue living on the whale, allowing the animal to suffer forever. His anger flared up and even Amy was scared of the Doctor, seeing his true nature come through, past the man she thought she knew. In the end, it was Amy who saved the whale and ultimately saved the Doctor from making a terrible decision. The whale chose to carry on swimming through space with the humans on his back because he wanted to. He cared about them. Just as the Doctor cared about the human race, the whale was similar in that aspect. His companions are often there to make the decisions he can never make. The ones between life and death and who should survive. He doesn't like being the one who has to press the button on who can live and who has to die. The whole incident caused the darker side of the Doctor to show through, making him come across as a man who has seen much pain and this reflected on his actions.

He can be very absent-minded when he wants to be. This includes leaving things behind, forgetting people's names and just being a klutz. His long limbs make a good excuse for his lack of coordination when running or just walking around the TARDIS console room. He has a habit of talking very fast when trying to express what he's thinking to others. He can babble and go on like most of us, but the Doctor is especially good at spouting nonsense when he wants. He just likes hearing the sound of his own voice sometimes; a trait that shows Time Lords are often rather cocky and self-assured.

The Eleventh Doctor is often viewed as a hero because of his heroic actions of saving the human race, or often the whole universe. One example of this can be seen in the episode "The Eleventh Hour", when he has only twenty minutes to save the world from an alien threat coming from both Prisoner Zero and the Atraxi. He teams up with Amy and Rory and they all manage to save the world in under twenty minutes. The Doctor shows courage by facing off the Atraxi and telling it to basically sling it's hook. Run. That's what the Doctor says to those who might think about crossing him.

Arrogance and recklessness are one of the Doctor's stronger negative traits. He can often be self-absorbed in his own ideas and go with what he thinks is best, ignoring what others say to him. He sometimes sees himself as above most races, including the human race because he's a Time Lord. Even though he is cheerful most times, the Eleventh Doctor is prone to angry outbursts, especially when it comes to the people he cares about getting hurt. During the episode "The God Complex” the Doctor had a tantrum and damaged a hotel’s kitchen. During the episode “The Angels Take Manhattan”, he notices at the beginning of the episode that there was a likelihood that Amy was going to die. He did not take that well either, despite River’s attempts to calm him down. During his outburst he was almost verbally abusive to River, telling her to change the future.

As well as arrogant and reckless, Eleven can also be ruthless. To find Amy and Melody, the Doctor destroyed the twelfth Cyber Legion to find the location of the Silence’s base. He also assembled an army to rescue them which included, Madame Vastra, Jenny Flint, Commander Strax, and Dorium Maldovar. Maldovar tried to warn the Silence and Madame Kovarian that all of the stories they’d heard about the Doctor were not stories, they were true. This shows that under the calm exterior, there is a man harbouring a darker side to his nature. The Doctor is not a man who has not gone without his fair share of loss. The loss of Amy, Rory, and River caused Eleven to become a little more reserved in his actions. His exuberance still makes appearances though, especially when Clara asks him to see "something awesome" on their adventures together.

Another big decision in the Doctor's life was at Trenzalore, during the episode "Time of the Doctor." During his time on Trenzalore, he spent over nine hundred years defending the planet and it's people, as it became the epicentre of a longstanding siege. Trenzalore was attacked relentlessly by many alien races, such as Cybermen, Daleks, Weeping Angels and Sontarans. This really was a true sacrifice coming from the Doctor, as it ultimately resulted in his death. He died of old age defending the people of Trenzalore and resisting the alien threat. Releasing how tough the battle that lay ahead of him would be, he tricked Clara into returning to Earth in the TARDIS, as he wanted to save her and keep her away from the perils of war. He couldn't bare seeing her become injured because of his actions, or worse, die because of the siege.

Running is a big thing with the Doctor. He prefers to stretch his legs to most locations and enjoys testing out his binary vascular system where possible. His energy is almost unlimited. As well as running towards things, he often spends a great deal of time running away from things. This is because he chooses to run away from tough decisions, rather than face them. In a battle, he'd rather grab Amy or Clara's hand and run away from the battle, than actually fight in it. The Doctor is opposed to violence, as he's seen too much of it during the Time War. He must have seen many of his own people shot down by the Daleks and this has obviously left visible scars within him. This isn't him being cowardly, it's just he'd rather not lose anyone else. He's lost too many people to actually want to face up to his past and come to terms with it.

Abilities:

+ Genius: Being a Time Lord, the Doctor has a vast intelligence, superior to any human being. His knowledge of time and space, being one of his greatest assets. He has a scientific and strategic mind, which helps him to solve problems easily. It also helps him get out of unwanted situations too.

+ Regeneration: When the Doctor becomes fatally injured or is dying, he can regenerate. This means he can cheat death by changing his physical appearance and changing into another man.

+ Protecting others: The Doctor is known throughout the universe for protecting other races and species, at the expense of his own protection. He waited for over a thousand years at Trenzalore, to save the people from an alien and Time Lord threat.

+ Good sense of smell and taste: The Doctor can analyse different liquids or objects by using his tongue. This is seen as odd in most people's eyes but has helped in deduce whatever the substance is.

+ Great mechanic: The Doctor usually busies himself around the TARDIS console, fixing or repairing things. He uses his welding goggles and special harness, which he sits in, to repair the underside of the console. He can fix most things within the universe, unless they are completely alien to him.

+ Telepath: The Doctor is a telepath. A gift known amongst Time Lords. He can transfer memories to people, using a head-butt or sometimes just by pressing his forehead to another person's.

+ Time: He has the ability to sense/feel time and timelines and has two hearts & respiratory bypass system, enabling him to hold his breath longer than any human and last out longer with lack of oxygen.

▸SAMPLES:
First Person:

[A high pitched whirring noise can be heard coming from the rather confused man standing outside a dark and dingy tunnel. He's waving the communication device around and pressing his sonic screwdriver next to it. The confusion is written all over his face, as he holds up the communication device close to his face and frowns.]

Why do you have to let me down now, hm? I'm in a new place, possibly a new planet and you don't even tell me a thing. I'll have to get you sorted back at the TARDIS, wherever she is.

[He's talking about why his sonic isn't affecting the new device he's gotten hold of. Yep, he's lost and a lost Doctor is an irritable one. He never likes being one for not knowing where he is. He likes being in control.]

This seems all wrong to me....somehow I shouldn't be here. None of this should be here really. [He had a hunch and once he had one of those, there was no stopping him.]

I'm the Doctor and forgive me if my sonic has temporarily deafen whoever might be listening to this on the other end. It's just that I rather thought this device would be able to help me get out of here. A map or perhaps a talking feature to guide people through? Nope. It doesn't seem like I'll be getting that any time soon.

[He wondered what happened to Angel Bob, since he remembered talking to him on a similar communicator like the one in his hand.]

I think it's rather rude dumping someone here without even a hello and a free lunchbox in case they get hungry. Really rude. [He'll be frowning into the screen and pouting until something happens or someone talks to him.]

Third Person:
Test Drive Meme

Bracket Style:
Here!

comments

"Clara, this way, come on!" The Doctor yelled over the scream of the ship's sirens blaring out down every narrow corridor. The ship's safety had been compromised. Eleven and Clara were travelling through 51st century space aboard the SS King Louis XVI, when something terrible happened.

Daleks.

Or, one Dalek to be accurate. All it took was one Dalek to somehow lock on to the ship's coordinates, beam aboard and start doing it's job of killing. That's all it knew. Killing off the crew one by one; the screams echoing down the cold hallways, as they met their end. The Doctor knew one Dalek alone could wipe out an entire ship, perhaps even the entire planet below, where they were orbiting.

"We have to get off this ship, Clara, but first I have to stop that Dalek. If I don't, then people will die. It won't ever stop killing because that's what it's born to do. Those people down below on that planet will have no chance against a Dalek, even with 51st century technology. That means nothing." He ran a hand through his hair and felt a bead of sweat drip down his forehead. "We should be safe enough in this locker room for now. I've sealed the door shut with the sonic. Question is....where is our metal friend now?"

He ran to the nearest navigation console and noticed the Dalek-shaped icon moving around the lower deck of the ship. It was manoeuvring itself around Deck B-2, trying to find new prey to shoot.
The Doctor pushed some buttons on the TARDIS console then entered in some coordinates into the navigation circuitry. The monitor flashed up and on screen was their destination. He turned around to flash Amy a grin.

"Right, Pond. I'm going to take you to a planet with an amazing view, bustling city, shops, transport and fantastic bars and restaurants. It's literally out of this world and is in the fiftieth century. I've been once before but that was a long time ago." He finished entering the coordinates and pulled the dematerialisation lever. The TARDIS jolted and then set off through the rift in time and space.

He put an arm on her shoulder and smiled at her.
[The TARDIS was wheezing in protest and flying erratically. The Doctor gripping onto the console for dear life, as fought to gain control. He had accidentally flown into a time pocket and the TARDIS did not like it one bit. She had thrown on all the safety measures possible but still could not fly straight. The Doctor ended up being pushed through the time vortex haphazardly and then falling out of the vortex at the wrong time. The end result is him now trying to stand up and pilot the chaotic TARDIS.]

Hey! Steady on, old girl! You've done this before. It's just a time stream loss of direction. You'll be fine, honestly.

[He went to pull a lever but then got thrown across the console room violently, as the TARDIS was rocked by a time distortion in space. The Doctor hit his head on a rail and saw stars, before everything faded from view and went black.]

comments

[The Doctor had landed his TARDIS in many familiar places before but Amelia Pond's bedroom had to be his least expected landing zone. He had landed here once before many years ago when little Amelia was just a little girl. The crack in her wall scared her half to death, until the Doctor examined it with his sonic and eased her somewhat. The Raggedy Man was here to put all of her nightmares to bed. That was the idea, anyway.

Right now, was a different story. Amy Pond had texted the Doctor and some rather interesting plans had come to light.
